Rules for the first semifinal of France

Conditions of Participation

1- May participate in the Contest, upon invitation given by the Organization, any professional Chef, national and international levels, of legal age, whenever representing a catering company or related to gastronomy entity and credited with pertinent documentation. The inscription of this year, the finalists participants will have an amount of 250.00€, which is paid into the account ACIP – IBAN FR76 1440 6000 5390 0065 0862 559  /  CODE BIC AGRIFRPP844

2- The Organizing Committee, which shall consist of the Mayor, the Councilor delegate Contest and personal advisor designated by the Corporation, has the power to invite Chefs annually considers appropriate having to participate in the Contest.

3- For this year, the Organizing Committee will select a maximum of 18 contestants.

4- The Chef may be accompanied by a kitchen assistant and the Organization will provide each a personal invitation for the meal.

5- The Chef has to prepare a paella 15 portions, in a 70cm pan, according to the recipe created by the Organizing Committee of the International Contest of Paella Valenciana in Sueca, and endorsed by the Club of Chefs of Valencia.

6- The purpose of the Competition is the implementation of high quality standards in catering, as well as greater spreading and recognition of the Paella Valenciana internationally.

To this end, participants in the competition include in the menu of their restaurants paella, will have to make it according to the recipe referred in the previous base.

7- The organization will send Chefs invited the registration form, which must return the mail acip@concoursdepaella.com before 20: 00h on May 20th, 2018. Save your original and deliver it before the beginning of the contest.

8- The competition will take place at the Halle aux Grains, to be held on 09 June 2018 in 41000 Blois and will start at 14h00.On the 9th of June at 08:00 he will be a master class, taught by D. Jesús Melero in which all participants cooks present, can see how the Paella Valenciana is cooked and taste it. (A minimum of 8 participants is required).

9- Participating Chefs must wear the regulation uniform,in case of representing a regional house, nationality or country may come with the typical dress. During paella’s preparation will be essential to the perfect identification of the company or participating entity. The official organization of Spain, will decide the admission of the participants.

10- The prizes that can be achieved, are there:

1st Prize: 000€

2nd Prize: 000€

3rd Prize: 000€

These amounts are not taxable. The Organizing Committee will hold a maximum of 5 finalists who will be rewarded with parchment.

11- The winners of a year may not participate in the edition of the contest the following year.

Regarding to other contestants, they may not participate while the places are covered in the next edition of the competition.

12- Prizes will be paid by bank transfer, so the participants will have to complete and submit with the application form, a sheet of maintenance to third parties duly completed by a bank entity.

13- It corresponds to award the prizes, a evaluator Jury that will be formed, on a proposal from the Organizing Committee, for a maximum of 6 members designated from among Chefs and representatives from the world of gastronomy, as well as in other social fields recognized personalities.

14- The composition of the Jury will be made public, at least before the start of the competition.

15- The decision of the Jury is final.

16- The Jury will evaluate:

                                                  a)  The cooked rice

                                                  b) The taste

                                                  c) The color

                                                  d) The symmetry between the ingredients

                                                  e) The point of scorched

17- It will be automatically disqualified the paella containing any different ingredient from the formula presented by the Organization.

18- The paella will be prepared and presented to the Jury at the time set by the Organizing Committee.

19- To ensure that all competitors are in the same conditions for the award, the Organizing Committee will provide each participant the following ingredients:

1.500 g of rice from Sueca

1 litre of olive oil

4 dozen snails

1500 g of garrofón (white beans)

500 gr de tavella (beans) y 1 kg de ferradura (green bean)

1 kg of mature tomatoes

1 head of garlic

1 packet of saffron strands (1g)

2 sheets of powdered saffron

115 g of paprika

2 free range chickens

2 rabbits

Salt and water

Tools: 1 paella 70 cm in diameter, 1 specific support, a bucket and firewood.

The contestants will presented with other kitchen utensils

20- Any question that may show up in the Competition, and is not specified in these rules shall be resolved by the Organizing Committee.

21- Participate in this Contest implies acceptance of the Terms and the decisions of the Organizing Committee.
